Questions and answers
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book directly. Some insurers ask for a GP referral before they’ll pay, so check your policy if you’re claiming.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable that lets us see and move the area: shorts for hips, knees and ankles, and a vest top or sports bra for shoulders and backs. We have shorts to borrow if you forget.
How long is each appointment?
Initial assessments are 45 minutes and follow-ups 30 minutes. Pelvic health and running gait analysis appointments are an hour. You’ll find every length on the treatments page.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies. Some problems need one visit and a good home plan; others take six or more sessions over a few months. We’ll give you an honest idea at your first appointment and review it as you go.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course. You’re welcome to bring a friend or family member, or ask for a chaperone. Children under 16 must come with a parent or guardian.
Do you see children?
We see young people aged 12 and over for sports injuries and growth-related pain. For younger children we’ll suggest a paediatric physiotherapist.
What if I need a scan or an injection?
If we think a scan or a specialist opinion would change your treatment, we’ll write to your GP or refer you privately, and explain the options and costs.
How do I cancel or change an appointment?
Call 01632 960517 or reply to your confirmation. Please give us 24 hours’ notice; late cancellations are charged at half the session price.
