Morwenna Tregear

“I wanted a studio that felt like a deep breath out.”

Morwenna grew up in Mylor and found yoga in a draughty church hall in Truro twenty years ago. She opened Salt & Sage in 2019 in a converted sail loft she’d walked past for years.

Her classes are thoughtful and unhurried, with clear explanations and a soft spot for anyone who thinks they’re “not flexible enough for yoga”.

Training
500-hour teacher training; yin yoga training with further study in anatomy for movement teachers

Vinyasa & strong flow

Jago Maddern

“Work hard, then lie down. That’s the deal.”

Jago came to yoga from surfing and rugby, looking for something to keep his back happy. He teaches the early-morning and after-work flows that get the loft studio warm.

Expect good music at a low volume, precise cues and a properly long rest at the end. He’s patient with wrists, shoulders and anyone learning to balance on their hands.

Vinyasa flow
Training
300-hour vinyasa training; arm balance and inversion teacher course
Off the mat
Cold-water surfing at Porthleven, wood-fired pizza

Anouk moved to Falmouth from Brittany for a year and stayed for ten. She teaches restorative, yin and pregnancy yoga in the candlelit Garden room.

Her pregnancy classes have become a small community of their own. She keeps a big box of bolsters, a bigger teapot and a list of local midwife-led groups to share.

Kerensa Kernick

“Nobody arrives knowing how. That’s why we have a beginners’ course.”

Kerensa was a primary school teacher before she trained in yoga, and it shows: she’s brilliant at explaining things simply and making a room of strangers feel at ease.

She runs the rolling Beginners’ foundations course and the slow flow classes, including the 45-minute lunchtime sessions that suit people working in town.
