Deploying
Put your site online with Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, any static host or WordPress hosting.
HTML templates are already static files, and Next.js and Astro templates build to static files with
pnpm build.
That means any static host works, and most have a free plan.
| Stack | What to upload | Build command |
|---|---|---|
| HTML | The template folder | None |
| Next.js | out/ after building, or the whole project to a Next.js-aware host |
pnpm build |
| Astro | dist/ after building, or the whole project to a host that builds Astro |
pnpm build |
| WordPress | The theme zip, uploaded in your WordPress admin | None |
Netlify#
- Drag and drop: open app.netlify.com/drop and drop the template folder
(HTML), the
out/folder (Next.js) or thedist/folder (Astro). You get a live URL in seconds. - From a Git repository: set the build command to
pnpm buildand the publish directory tooutfor Next.js ordistfor Astro; leave both empty for HTML.
Vercel#
Import the repository at vercel.com/new. Next.js and Astro projects are detected automatically. For HTML, choose the Other framework preset with no build command.
GitHub Pages#
git init && git add . && git commit -m "My site"
git branch -M main
git remote add origin https://github.com/you/my-site.git
git push -u origin mainThen open the repository's Settings → Pages and deploy from the main branch. For a Next.js or Astro
template, commit the built out/ or dist/ folder, or use a GitHub Actions workflow that runs pnpm build. Project sites live
under /my-site/, so build with DEMO_BASE_PATH=/my-site pnpm build to set the base path.
Cloudflare Pages#
Create a project and either connect the repository (build command pnpm build, output directory out for
Next.js or dist for Astro) or use Direct upload with the folder.
Any other host#
Upload the files over SFTP or your host's file manager. Keep the folder structure as it is: every link and asset path is relative.
WordPress#
WordPress themes run on WordPress hosting rather than a static host: any host that offers WordPress 7.1 or
later with PHP 7.4 or newer. Upload the theme zip in Appearance > Themes > Add New Theme > Upload Theme,
activate it, then run the theme's setup screen to create the pages (see
Getting started). The theme's 404 page is the
404 template, editable in Appearance > Editor > Templates.
A custom 404 page#
Every template includes 404.html (HTML) or not-found.tsx (Next.js, exported as 404.html). Netlify,
GitHub Pages, Vercel and Cloudflare Pages serve it automatically for missing pages; on other hosts, set the
error page to 404.html.
Before you launch#
- Replace the fictional names, prices, addresses and contact details.
- Connect every form.
- Update titles, descriptions and the social image URL to your domain.
- Check the site on a phone, with the keyboard only and in dark mode if the template has it.
