Changelog

What’s new in Tally.

We ship small improvements every week and write them up here. Big ones get a note in the monthly email.

Updates

9 updates

  1. New

Deposits and part payments on quotes

Ask for a percentage or a fixed deposit when a quote is accepted. The balance invoice is created for you with the deposit already deducted.

  2. Improved

    A clearer VAT summary

The VAT summary now shows sales and purchases side by side, explains every figure and links each number to the invoices behind it.

  3. Fixed

    Reminders and bank holidays

Reminders due on an Irish bank holiday now go out the next working day instead of on the holiday itself.

  4. New

    Passkeys

Sign in with your phone’s fingerprint or face unlock. Owners can make passkeys or an authenticator app compulsory for the team.

  5. Improved

    Faster bank matching

Payments that cover several invoices are now matched in one go, and part payments are suggested when the amount doesn’t match exactly.

  6. New

    Late-payment fees in reminders

Optionally add statutory interest and fixed compensation to a late reminder. Tally works out the figures; you decide whether to claim them.

  7. Fixed

    Rounding on multi-line VAT

Invoices with many lines at different VAT rates could be a cent out. Totals are now rounded once, per rate, as most accountants expect.

  8. Improved

Receipt reading in the mobile app

Crumpled and faded receipts are read more reliably, and you can snap several in a row without leaving the camera.

  9. New

    Sterling and US dollar invoices

Invoice in sterling on Studio, and in sterling or US dollars on Practice. Payments are converted at the rate on the day and the difference is recorded for you.
