No. 15 · The celebrations issue

Celebrations, beautifully edited.

Ivy & Ash plans weddings, company gatherings and private parties across Charleston and the Lowcountry. We hold the details, the vendors and the rain plan, so you can arrive as a guest at your own celebration.

From the founder

A good party is mostly invisible work.

Fourteen years ago I planned my sister’s wedding in our grandmother’s garden on Tradd Street, between an ivy-covered wall and an old ash tree. Nothing went to plan. Everything went beautifully, because someone had thought about what would happen when it didn’t.

That is still the job. We plan eighteen weddings a year, and a few company gatherings and private parties, so every couple and client gets a lead planner who knows their name, their mother’s name and the name of their florist’s van.

If you are reading this with a ring on your finger or a launch on the calendar, congratulations. Pour something nice and tell us about it.

What our couples say

Josephine called us two days out with a plan B that turned out better than plan A. We danced under the tent while it poured, and we never once saw her worry.
