Security should feel calm, and make sense.

Cipheroak is four people in a small adobe studio off Galisteo Street. We came from fraud investigation, electronics repair, estate law and credit union treasury, and we teach what we learned there.

Principles

Six promises we put in every engagement letter

  1. I

    We never see your phrase

You generate it and write it. We look away, literally, at the table.

  2. II

    We never hold a key

Not as a backup, not as a third signer. A security company that holds keys becomes the target.

  3. III

    No commissions

We take nothing from device makers, banks or anyone else we might recommend.

  4. IV

    No financial advice

We won’t tell you what to buy, sell or hold. Our work ends where the security does.

  5. V

    Written down and rehearsed

A plan nobody has practiced is a hope. Every setup ends with a drill.

  6. VI

    Plain language

If your executor can’t follow it, it isn’t finished. We rewrite until they can.

The studio

A quiet room with a big table

Our studio has no windows onto the street, no cameras in the ceremony room and a table big enough for five signers. It is a ten-minute walk from the Plaza, with parking behind the building off Paseo de Peralta.
