Visit us

A warm welcome. A little fresh air.

Find the plot, read how we make it work for everyone, or send us a question. The office answers within one working day.

Ask us anything

Which course suits you, whether the paths will suit a wheelchair, or if we can run a day for your garden club.

Getting here

By car

Follow Wyre Road out of town past the last houses; our gate is the green one in the brick wall on the left. Free parking for 14 cars inside, with two wide bays by the barn.

By train or bus

Pershore station is about two miles north. Buses from Worcester and Evesham stop in Broad Street, a fifteen-minute walk away. Tell us when you enrol and we can usually arrange a lift from the station.

By bike or on foot

There is a covered bike rack beside the barn. On foot, it is a ten-minute walk from the Abbey along quiet pavements.

Access statement

A garden for more people.

The plot is on level ground. From the car park to the barn and the teaching beds is about 80 metres of firm, rolled gravel; on request we open the lower gate so you can park right beside the barn.

The barn has step-free access, a wheelchair-accessible toilet with a grab rail, heating, and seats with and without arms. Six of the teaching beds are raised to 75 cm with knee space beneath, and there is always a stool at the potting bench.

The orchard and the hedge line are on rough grass, which can be soft and muddy from November to March. The pruning and hedge-laying courses spend most of the day there.

Assistance dogs are welcome. Handouts are available in large print, and we can send them in advance. If anything would help, tell us when you enrol or ring the office; we would much rather plan it with you beforehand.

Safeguarding

Who our courses are for.

Our courses are for adults aged 18 and over. Young people aged 14 to 17 are welcome on beginner courses when a parent or carer is enrolled alongside them.

All three tutors hold enhanced DBS checks and current outdoor first-aid certificates. Halima Fennimore is our safeguarding lead; you can reach her in confidence through the office.

Questions people ask

Do I need my own tools?

No. We supply hand tools, secateurs, gloves in several sizes, compost and seeds. If you have a favourite trowel, bring it along.

What happens if it rains?

We carry on in light rain and move into the barn or polytunnel when it pours. For storms, high winds or snow we postpone and ring you by 4pm the day before.

Is lunch included?

Tea, coffee and cake are. Please bring a packed lunch on full-day courses; there is a fridge and a kettle in the barn.

Can I give a course as a present?

Yes. Gift vouchers for any amount are valid for a year and can be used on any course. Ring the office or send us a message.

Can I visit before I book?

Of course. Ring the office to arrange a weekday visit and someone will show you round the barn, the beds and the paths.
