Measure twice, plant once
Make room for a little harvest.
Enter the inside measurements of one rectangular bed and choose a crop. The planner works out how many plants fit at the spacing we use on the plot, and draws them to scale.
Your field note
32 plants
4 plants across × 8 along, 30 cm apart, in a 1.2 m × 2.4 m bed (2.88 m²).

How the planner works it out
The bed is divided into equal squares, one per plant, with the spacing as the side of each square. Each plant sits in the middle of its square, so the outer plants are half a spacing from the edge, where they won’t crowd a path.
Spacings are the ones we use at the plot for a well-fed bed. Seed packets sometimes give a row spacing and a plant spacing; if yours are different, follow the packet. The count is an estimate, not a crop guarantee: light, soil and slugs all have a say.
