We’re building the research assistant we always wanted.

Prism started in 2023 in a Toronto library basement, where two of us spent a year watching analysts paste chatbot answers into reports and then spend the afternoon checking them.

We think an assistant earns trust the way a good colleague does: by showing where every fact came from and saying “I don’t know” out loud. Everything we build starts there.

Three rules we don’t bend.

  • Show the work

    If Prism says it, Prism cites it. When sources disagree or run out, the answer says so instead of guessing.

  • Defaults are decisions

    No training on customer data, permissions inherited, retention you control. Safe is the default, not an upsell.

  • Fast is a feature

    A careful answer nobody waits for beats a perfect one that arrives too late. We budget latency like we budget accuracy.
