About

I’m Mira — I believe the best interfaces feel inevitable.

Illustrated portrait of Mira Okafor

Lisbon, 2026. Usually with coffee.

I grew up between Lagos and London, studied architecture, and fell for software when I realised buildings and apps share the same question: how should this feel to move through?

For eight years I’ve designed products for fintech, health and commerce companies — first in-house, leading a team at Northwind Pay, and now independently from a small studio in Lisbon.

I work best embedded with a team for a few months: close to engineers, close to customers, and close to the code. I care about the boring details — empty states, error messages, loading screens — because that’s where trust is built.

Outside work I throw pots badly, swim in the Atlantic whatever the weather, and run a small monthly meet-up for designers new to Lisbon.
