Our story
A bookshop the size of a living room, mostly.
Odessa Merriweather opened Larchmere in 1998 in what used to be a hardware store, which is why the shelves are on rollers and the floor still creaks by the poetry. The café corner arrived in 2011, when we knocked through into the old paint room.
We’re a general bookshop with a strong lean toward fiction, nature writing and kids’ books, and we order anything in print. Every book on the front tables has been read by someone who works here.
