The estimator

Scope it, and see the fee

Choose what you need. The breakdown is the same sum Marika uses for a written proposal, so the number you see here is the number you’ll be quoted, unless the brief changes.

1. What are we making?
1 min

In steps of 15 seconds, from 15 s to 3 min. Cut-downs don’t count: add them below.

3. How is it made?

One at boards, one at animation. Each extra round adds a week.

How a project runs

From first call to final master

  1. Week 0

    A 30-minute call

What the film is for, who it’s for, and what’s fixed.

  2. Week 0–1

    Proposal and deposit

A written fixed fee within a week. A 40% deposit holds the dates.

  3. Weeks 1–3

    Boards and styleframes

Index-card boards, an animatic and four finished frames. First round of changes.

  4. Weeks 3–8

    Animation

A work-in-progress link every Friday. Second round of changes.

  5. Last week

    Masters and handover

Every format you asked for, project files and the balance invoice.

Questions about fees

Is VAT included?Open

No. Rillmark is VAT registered, so 20% VAT is added to every invoice. The estimator shows both figures.

How do I pay?Open

40% on signing to book the dates, the balance on delivery, by bank transfer within 14 days. Projects over £15,000 can split the balance at styleframes and delivery.

Who owns the finished film?Open

You do, for any use, worldwide, once the balance is paid. Rillmark keeps the right to show it in the reel and on this site. Fonts and stock are licensed in your name.

What about music?Open

For music videos the track is yours. For everything else, Calum Torrance can write an original score, quoted separately, or we license library music at cost.

Can you start sooner?Open

Sometimes. Short jobs of a week or two can slot in between projects. Ask on the enquiry form and say what date is fixed.
