    Your first class

    Less pressure, more possibility

    1. 01

      Bring just yourself

Materials, tools, an apron and a cup of tea are ready when you arrive. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky.

    2. 02

      Go at your own pace

Tutors demonstrate in small steps and keep groups small. Watching for a while is fine too.

    3. 03

      Keep what you make

Prints and fabric go home with you on the night; clay comes back from the kiln about four weeks later.

    Teach a class here
    Do I need any experience?
No. Every class on this page starts from the basics, and tutors keep groups small enough to help everyone. If you’ve done some before, tell the tutor and they’ll give you something harder.
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. Most people do. A shared table and something to do with your hands make conversation easy.
What if the cost is a stretch?
Every booked class keeps two supported places, at half price or free. Ask the welcome desk in person, by phone or by email; we won’t ask you to explain why.
Can I join a weekly class halfway through?
Yes. Weekly classes don’t run as courses: each session stands on its own, and regulars help newcomers find their feet.
What happens to my clay pieces?
They dry on the studio shelves, then go through two firings. They’re ready about four weeks later, and we message you when they come out of the kiln.
    Can you accommodate access needs?
The Print Room and Clay Studio are step-free, with adjustable-height tables and a wheel that works seated. Tell us what helps and we’ll set up before you arrive.
