co/ Company

We build the plumbing so you don’t have to.

Forge started in 2021 in a Rotterdam co-working space, after our founders spent three years rebuilding the same webhook system at three different companies: a queue, a retry loop, a signing scheme, a log table nobody could search.

Today 34 people in Rotterdam, Montréal and remote across nine time zones run it for more than 2,400 engineering teams. We’re profitable, independent and plan to stay boring.

01/ Principles

Four rules we argue with, then follow.

  1. 01

    Never lose an event.

If we answered 202, the event exists in three places. Every design review starts with “how could this drop a message?”

  2. 02

    Boring beats clever.

Postgres, a queue, well-understood failure modes. We spend our novelty budget on developer experience, not on the database.

  3. 03

    Publish the numbers.

Uptime, latency, incidents and postmortems are public, including the embarrassing ones. You’re putting your name on our delivery.

  4. 04

    Docs are the product.

An API nobody can figure out is an outage with better uptime. Engineers write the docs for the features they ship.

02/ Team

Small team, long on-call memory.

  • Marit Halvorsen

    Co-founder, CEO

Ran payments infrastructure at a Nordic fintech. Answers sales emails herself on Fridays.

  • Dev Raghunathan

    Co-founder, CTO

Wrote the first retry scheduler on a train to Antwerp. Still reviews every change to it.

  • Lucía Arrieta

    Head of Infrastructure

Keeps three regions boring. Previously SRE lead at a large travel marketplace.

  • Tobias Rehnberg

    Developer Experience

Owns the SDKs, the CLI and the docs. Measures success in support tickets that never happen.

  • Amara Nwachukwu

    Customer Engineering

Leads the engineers who help customers migrate from home-grown webhooks.

  • Kenji Nakashima

    Security

Runs our SOC 2 program, pen tests and the bug bounty. Rotates his own keys monthly.

03/ Offices

Two harbours, nine time zones.

Most of us work remotely. The offices are where we meet every quarter, and where the coffee is better than at home.
