Policies

The fine print, in plain words

Reservations & deposits

Send a request online or call. We confirm within one business day and take the first night as a deposit; the balance is paid at check-in by card or cash. Stays that include a Saturday night are two nights minimum; the longest stay is 14 nights.

Cancellations

Cancel 14 or more days before arrival and we refund everything except a $10 fee. Inside 14 days we keep the deposit. If we close the beach or the campground for weather, you get a full refund or a free change of dates.

Check-in & check-out

Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 11 am. Arriving after the office closes at 9 pm? Your tag and a map are on the board by the door. Late check-out until 1 pm is $10 when the site is free.

Quiet hours

10 pm to 7 am, every night. Voices carry across water, so keep music to your own site and generators off between 9 pm and 8 am.

Pets

Up to two dogs on pet-friendly sites and in Chickadee and Balsam cabins. Leashes on (six feet or shorter), never left alone at the site, and please pick up. Dogs are welcome on the beach west of the stairs.

Campfires & firewood

Fires in the steel rings only, and never left burning. To keep forest pests out of the Upper Peninsula, please don’t bring firewood from home: buy it at the store or from a local seller near camp.

Visitors

Day visitors are welcome from 8 am to 9 pm at $5 a car; please park at the office. Overnight guests count toward the six-person limit for the site.

Accessibility

Trillium Cabin, site E5 and both bathhouses are accessible, with firm paths to the beach overlook and the bog boardwalk. Call us and we’ll talk you through the site that suits you best.

Weather

Storms off the lake come in fast. We post warnings at the office and on the bathhouse doors, and the office is the storm shelter. No refunds for rain, but plenty of board games at the store.
